Philadelphia Force hosts first ASA of PA Night
ALLENTOWN, Pa.-- Joining forces, the ASA of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia Force women’s professional team held the first ASA of PA Night on August 16th at Bicentennial Park. Pre-game ceremonies included a walk around the field by ASA of PA champions and other teams during the ASA of PA Night on August 16th in Allentown, Pa.NPF Pitcher of the Year, Katie Burkhart. “I think it was a great opportunity for ASA teams to experience women’s professional softball as well as being recognized for their achievement within the ASA of PA program. I look forward to our future together,” said Stacey Stuck, ASA of PA JO commissioner. Stuck and Erin Statmore of the Force led the the pre-game ceremonies including a walk around the field by the state champions and other ASA teams. During the National Anthem the state champions run out to their position with their favorite Force player. After the pregame ceremonies, the fans watched Burkhart hurl a one-hit shutout, which was shown on FOX SPORTSNET. “Teaming up with the ASA of PA and Stacey Stuck is nothing but a win-win for both parties. Since softball is out of the Olympics, we need to make sure we keep positive role models out there for young athletes to be able to aspire (them) to play professionally in the NPF,” said Statmore, assistant GM of the Force.‘‘Without Stacey’s support this night would not have been possible. This is my third season with the Force and I have not seen as many fans in the stadium as I did during this last game.”
