All 50 states have adopted legislation requiring youth coaches acquire CONCUSSION CERTIFICATION.
The ASA Board of Directors recently established a national policy for ASA state/metro associations to follow for ASA championship play tournaments:
All Junior Olympic team personnel assisting in the dugout, umpires and players (if required) shall meet or exceed all state concussion laws of the state in which they participate in ASA championship play tournaments.
- Teams or umpires traveling to another state that has a concussion law must comply with that state's requirements.
- Tournament Directors need to post concussion law information on their websites and tournament information sheets regarding the requirements of their state whether it is championship or non-championship play.
